Arts in Hospitals

delivering love with music and arts

At the beginning,
we thought Arts in Hospital,
is a public welfare program that could help patients to ease their anxiety.
Later on,
we get to know that,
in fact Arts in Hospital, has delivered so much hope and affection to patients more than we expect.

Program background
In contrast to the nice and quiet environment of western hospitals, hospitals in China are always overcrowded.

The waiting area of hospital’s outpatient department is always bustling with the sound of radio broadcasting, nurses’shouting voices, and sighs of the patients, one after another.

Arts in Hospital, delivering love with Arts has its original form since 2013.
Embryonic form Program
In 2013, BJHACF funded more than 10 cancer patients to get together for singing, dancing and reciting training, and encourage them to perform in hospitals and communicate with patients.

We call this “Talk Therapy”, a way to help cancer patients to restore their confidence by talking to them.

Later on we discover that in the hospitals, not only patients but also medical care personnel need to be comforted.

Therefore, in December 2015, Arts in Hospital, delivering love with Arts came into being.
Stick to the faith and
keep moving forward.
Volunteers with musical instrumental talents were called to perform on-site for patients. At the same time, we make up art troupe with those cancer patients who are keen on arts and fund them to perform in different hospitals and communicate with other patients, to complete our mission by mutual assistance among patients.

In Chinese, “Xin”represents heart, “Yin” represents music and arts, “Fang” represents a big family.

This public welfare program is not cold and monotonous. It, with music and arts, carries respect and expectation to health, delivers warmth and care among people, and shows each individual’s passion and desire for life.
